Mildle seems to be the play out there. I think a better play would be Kaiserslautern

Germany - 2. Bundesliga

7th May 05 SC Freiburg v Kaiserslautern 1 - 2
27th Nov 04 Kaiserslautern v SC Freiburg 3 - 0
29th Feb 04 SC Freiburg v Kaiserslautern 1 - 0

Writeup I found:

4th place Kaiserslautern hosting 15th place Freiburg in this fixture, with 8 points seperating both team after 8 games played. Freiburg is having difficulties in organsing their back line, especially when playing away from home. Just for reference, the last time both teams met in Bundesliga 1, Kaiserslautern did a double over Freiburg.

Kaiserslautern current home form :
Oct 15, 2006 L2. Bundesliga *Kaiserslautern vs Erzgebirge 4 - 0

Sep 22, 2006 L2. Bundesliga *Kaiserslautern vs Koblenz 4 - 3

Aug 27, 2006 L2. Bundesliga *Kaiserslautern vs Paderborn 2 - 0

Aug 11, 2006 L2. Bundesliga *Kaiserslautern vs RW Essen 1 - 0

In the most recent game, Kaiserslautern was knocked out of the Polka Cup away to Bayern Munich 1-0. In that game, they have not only defended briliantly, but also pushed the home team all the way.

Freiburg current away form :
Oct 24, 2006 DFB Pokal *Wolfsburg vs Freiburg 1 - 0

Oct 13, 2006 L2. Bundesliga *MSV Duisburg vs Freiburg 1 - 1

Oct 01, 2006 L2. Bundesliga *Erzgebirge vs Freiburg 3 - 1

Sep 17, 2006 L2. Bundesliga *1860 Munchen vs Freiburg 1 - 1

A win in this fixture will allow the host to keep in touch with the promotion spot, and will push them up to 3rd spot. With the host currently playing well, it is difficult for Freiburg to get anything from this fixture.

Thanks dm and soprano!!!

What do you think of the history between them, Boro 10 wins and 6 draws, no win at all for Manchester City. ( as far as i read)

What do you see on Manchester City dm?

I see a team that got bitch slapped 4-0 on the road to Wigan so i've always been known to flip the switch and bet them the following week since im hoping they put forward the extra effort to get that blowout result out of there minds. Plus there at home.

if boro hadnt lost viduka, i'd have had them to edge it on a dnb punt, but saying that, city had produced some of the most dire football ive ever seen in the premiership since wright-phillips left.
pearce has 5 strikers to choose from start of the season (andy cole is now at portsmouth on a free transfer), and still things were not going for them.

imho, though i loved him as a player, pearce is just not cut out for premiership management.

if i had to...a boring "under", otherwise no bet.

Two very bad teams.

My general rule in this situation in the EPL is to take the home team.

Man City pk - .5 - 110

MANCHESTER CITY (-0.5) +125 over Middlesbrough (Pinnacle)

Middlesbrough have won their last two matches but this side is much too inconsistant to have any confidence in. Middlesbrough have yet to record an away win this season and it is unlikely to happen today.

Much like West Ham, Manchester City need to pick themselves up off the mat after some poor performances and a 4-0 thrashing last week at the hands of Wigan. This loss outraged many including the chairman, John Wardle, so expect a big response today and a much needed win for City.

just a word of caution: for me it is a no play as i see it as a very close match, maybe even with a surprising draw. Kaiserslautern, as you can see above layed not one good team at home so far and struggled, besides the Aue match, against all of them.the cup match vs. München during the week was not close, because they played brilliantly, it was more that Bayern did not put any efford in this match.

Freiburg on the other hand was one of the pre-season favs at the beginning of the season, and although struggeling so far has still"on paper" a good team. They are coming around lately and got there first win of the season last weekend. if you look at their away games so far they played two matches against good teams to a draw. especially the recent draw to duisburg was very impressive.
Not saying that Kaiserslautern cannot win, but i see no value here at all. if i play something just for fun, cause it s on TV here, i ll take Freiburg, but i think i prefer watching the english game and go with the home team there

middlesbrough is the bogey team for manchester city. City have only won twice in 22 matches with them and their recent form is also worse than Boro's. I think the under is a safe bet here as City haven't conceded a goal yet at home and I don't see Boro losing this match. This could easily go 0-0.

City are 0-5-5 vs Boro in the EPL in last 6 years with all home games going under. City 4-0 in home unders this year too. I'd go under

I am taking the over 2.5 + 141 for the sole reason everyone in this thread likes the under.
